Seven Toledo women’s basketball student-athletes were named to the Mid-American Conference Academic All-MAC Team, as the league on Thursday announced its academic honors for student-athlete performances in the classroom for the 2023-24 season.
Graduate student Sophia Wiard, seniors Yaniah Curry, Nan Garcia, Khera Goss, Sammi Mikonowicz and Hannah Noveroske, along with junior Jessica Cook earned the award from the league.
To be selected to the team, a student-athlete must hold at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and participate in at least 50 percent of the contests for their respective sport.
Toledo’s seven selections were among 54 women’s basketball student-athletes awarded on Thursday. The seven Rockets on the list marked the second-most among the MAC’s 12 women’s basketball member institutions.
